Loris Karius has indicated he expects to remain with Besiktas next season and will not be returning to Liverpool.
Karius was sent to the Turkish Super Lig outfit on a two-year loan deal back in August, a couple of months after his poor display in the Champions League final, and soon after new No.1 Alisson was signed by the Reds.
Speaking after Besiktas’ 2-1 loss to Trabzonspor, the 25-year-old revealed he does not believe he will return to the Premier League.
“This is a team game. I must not forget this, I am disappointed,” he said.

“Maybe we could have got a point. We have another game [before the end of the season] and a game to win.
“Then we will continue our preparations. I think that if all parties are happy and satisfied, I will continue. My contract with Besiktas continues.”

Back in March, Besiktas manager Senol Gunes admitted Karius’ loan from Liverpool simply ‘hasn’t worked out’.
After failing to make a routine save in a 3-2 win over Konyaspor, Gunes revealed he was not happy with the goalkeeper.
“He was at fault for the goals he conceded,” Gunes said. “Karius has gone a bit stagnant, something is wrong with his electricity, motivation, enthusiasm for the game.
“It has been like that since the beginning. He does not really feel a part of the team, it’s something we haven’t been able to work out and, of course, I am partly to blame for this.
“Something is wrong, he has also been unlucky. [He] is talented but it hasn’t worked out and we have a problem. Let me put it this way, if I still had Tolga (Zengin) available I would play him.”
Recently, however, Karius’ form has improved and Besiktas are no longer against the glovesman staying around for the 2019/20 season.
