Hector Bellerin has called on men to ‘fight’ against abortion laws in the United States after the controversial bill passed in Alabama.
The Arsenal defender spoke out about the issue and urged more people in football to do the same, insisting it affects ‘every human being’.
Alabama recently became the latest US state to outlaw abortion in almost all cases, including rape or incest.
It has sparked global outrage – and Bellerin insists men should not ‘hide’ from the debate.
He tweeted: “I wanted to see if anyone from our industry would speak out about the abortion bill, but I guess people are too scared.

“We fight for equality and this is something men should fight for and not hide away from.”
The 24-year-old is never one to shy away from societal issues outside the game.
Bellerin has previously called out Donald Trump on Twitter and addressed racism in football.
He is currently recovering from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament suffered in January.

Spanish footballer Héctor Bellerín has called out the football world for its silence over Alabamas near-total abortion ban. He says he tried to get people in the industry to speak out against the draconian law but says people are too scared to speak up.
Alabama have passed the most severe laws, implementing a complete ban, making the provision of an abortion a felony punishable with a prison sentence. The pro-choice backlash has been strong, but Bellerin is the only male footballer to speak up against the restrictive, anti-abortion laws.
