Gordon Strachan has told talkSPORT he would be open to making a return as Scotland manager, as the pressure builds on current boss Alex McLeish.
Strachan left his role as Scotland boss back in October 2017 after his side’s failure to qualify for the World Cup.
He was eventually replaced by McLeish in February 2018 but, after just four wins from 11 matches, the jury is still out on whether he is the right man for the job.
There have been calls for McLeish to stand down after Scotland’s humiliating 3-0 defeat to Kazakhstan – a team ranked 117th in the world.
He refused to comment about his future following the game, but Strachan has emerged as the surprise favourite to take back his old job.
And, speaking on talkSPORT’s My Sporting Life, the 62-year-old admitted he would love the chance to work with this Scotland team again.
“I loved every minute of it [managing Scotland],†he said.
“We played some good football and we definitely had a bond with the players. It was as good as anything I’ve been involved with.
“We were a good group.
“If somebody asked me if I’d work again, I would, if I could work with that group.â€
