The Stamford Bridge faithful had their prayers answered as Callum Hudson-Odoi finally earned his first Premier League start, while there was also a place in the line-up for fellow academy star Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
And they repaid their manager’s faith in abundance, with 18-year-old Hudson-Odoi creating the first goal for Olivier Giroud, before Loftus-Cheek scored a second-half screamer.
Eden Hazard grabbed the second goal in between after a clever ball round the corner from Loftus-Cheek as Chelsea produced one of their best displays of the season.
