The test will be made all the more tough as Barca captain Messi revealed that he and his team-mates are extra motivated to bring the Champions League trophy back to the Camp Nou.

Addressing the Barcelona crowd in August 2018, Messi said: “Although last year was very good for us as we won LaLiga and the Copa del Rey we still have some unfinished business in the Champions League – more than anything because of the way we were knocked out of the competition.


“We promise that this year we will do everything possible so that the much coveted Champions League will come back to the Camp Nou.”
