Leeds United fans took the opportunity to mock Derby County boss Frank Lampard after their narrow Championship play-off win at Pride Park – and it could be more of the same on Wednesday night if the Whites advance to Wembley!
Kemar Roofe’s second-half strike sealed an impressive 1-0 triumph for the visitors in the first leg of their semi-final on Saturday.
Roofe collected a fine cross from winger Jack Harrison and tucked the ball expertly past Derby goalkeeper Kelle Roos after 54 minutes.
It was Roofe’s 15th goal of the season – and the fourth time he has netted against Derby this term – and puts Marcelo Bielsa’s side in pole position to book a Wembley date with the winner of Aston Villa vs West Brom.
The two sides have developed a bit of history over the course of this season over ‘Spygate’ – which stemmed from Rams boss Lampard complaining after Marceloa Bielsa sent a member of his coaching staff to watch them train.
Since then, Whites supporters have been quick to tease the former England international at any possible opportunity.
