Gareth Southgate says he would play youngsters Jadon Sancho and Callum Hudson-Odoi without any hesitation in their Euro 2020 qualifier at Montenegro.
The Three Lions take on the former Yugoslav nation on Monday night – a game you can listen to live on talkSPORT – following their rampant 5-0 victory over the Czech Republic on Friday.
Sancho acquitted himself well on his first competitive start for England, while Hudson-Odoi had a few good moments on his senior debut after coming on as a substitute in the match at Wembley.
However, the game in Podgorica is expected to be a tougher test, with England failing to win in two visits to Montenegro.
Southgate may call on more experienced heads for the game, but the England boss insisted that these sorts of contests are important for the education of the pair.
Speaking to the press before the game, Southgate said on whether he would play Sancho, who turns 19 on Monday and Hudson-Odoi, 18: “No hesitation.
“This is part of their education and to be a top team you have to adapt to every environment you go into.
“Friday at Wembley is a different sort of experience to going away from home in a qualifier which is always difficult wherever I’ve travelled.
“The only way they can learn and improve is to go through these experiences.
But whoever gets the nod, Southgate insisted that his players will be ready for the potentially hostile environment.

He added: “We’re guests here so we’ll be very respectful about how we speak about the opposition.
“Our players always have to be prepared for hostile environments, whether their playing in England for their clubs or travelling around the world.
“We always prepare the players for everything but the most important thing is to prepare tactically for the game and make sure that our performance levels are high.”
